We’ve done some re-jigging, and we are dancing a jig to celebrate the late release of extra tickets to all of our sold out shows.
More tickets for all previously sold out performances will be released this Friday, 15 March at 9am.
You will be able to book online or by calling 022 4 TIX NOW (022 4 849 669). We’ll also have our second phone line running on Friday only on 03 669 2849.
Our Festival Director, Philip Tremewan, is looking forward to the release. “We’re delighted with the response to this year’s programme and thrilled to see shows like The Māori Sidesteps, Nadia Reid and Bruce sell out,” he said, adding that he expects demand to be high on Friday.
As well as offering tickets to previously sold out shows, the Festival is now lifting buying limits on popular shows including Jordi Savall, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s performances of Strength and Grace.
If you already have tickets to these shows but would like more, you will be able to access these from Friday morning.
The Festival of Colour takes place from Tuesday 2 to Sunday 7 April in Wanaka, Queenstown and Central Otago.
Known as ‘the best little arts festival in New Zealand’, this year’s festival also spills over for an extra four days of special events from Saturday 30 March.
These include exclusive pre-festival concert by baroque music superstar Jordi Savall on Sunday 31 March, the Wai Water Wanaka art exhibition in the Armstrong Room at Lake Wanaka Centre, and two showings of Fleur Elise Noble’s incredible ROOMAN – click HERE to check out the preview video of this mix of puppetry, projection, drawing, dance and music.

Alistair King, chair of the Southern Lakes Arts Festival Trust, shares his pick of the festival: Still Life with Chickens.
“I had the chance to catch Still Life With Chickens earlier this year, and it’s hilarious. Goretti Chadwick is brilliant as Mama – let down by her kids and husband, she develops a close friendship with a chicken after it invades her veggie patch.
If you’re looking for a belly laugh this festival season, this is the show for you!”
