The Festival of Colour’s longstanding General Manager Lindsey Schofield has decided it’s time for her to try out a new job.

The Festival will miss her – for ten years she has been at the heart of the festival operations, and her energy, her good humour and her great organising skills have carried us forward from one successful festival to the next.

Festival co-chair Hetty Van Hale says “It’s rare for an organisation to keep such a fine leader for so long.  The Board has valued her organisational skills and the poise and energy that have seen her keep all the systems running steadily even under the pressures of festival week. And she has kept us closely linked in to the community – she knows everybody in town!”

Festival director Philip Tremewan has relished working with her “We’re such different personalities which is why perhaps we have such a great working relationship.  I’ve so much enjoyed the way Lindsey brings so much positive energy to the team that gathers to run each festival.  And I’m always amazed at the way she motors through all the different tasks required of a GM – from accounts to staff management, from diplomacy to databases.”

Lindsey will finish in early November and the job is being advertised this week.


The AGM for the Southern Lakes Arts Festival Trust will take place Friday 6th October 12 noon at the Wanaka Hotel. All welcome. Copies of the annual report will be available.
