Baroque, ballet and breaking boundaries: Get you tickets for the Festival of Colour

Our tickets went on sale last week, and we’ve had a huge response – thanks to everyone for supporting the eighth Festival of Colour!

The good news is we have more than 4,000 tickets left for our 2019 programme, so now is the time to get in and grab yourself a seat for an amazing arts experience.

Thanks to buying limits, all three of our ‘big hitters’ have tickets available, but they’re selling fast, so don’t delay.

Tickets are still on sale for the 9pm performance of The Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Strength & Grace, including two works that were commissioned to celebrate the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage.

Baroque star Jordi Savall.

And there’s still time to get your baroque on! Baroque music superstar Jordi Savall is bringing the gorgeous music of late 17th century France to Wanaka. This is his only New Zealand performance, and the final one on his current world tour – there are a limited number of tickets left, don’t miss this rare opportunity to see one of the best early music performers in the world.

We also have a few seats available for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra’s Monday concert. NZSO Concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen will lead the chamber orchestra in one of the great masterpieces of the Baroque Period, Handel’s Water Music.

You can book online through our Festival of Colour website,
or call our ticketing line on 022 4 849 669.

Staff picks

Our Festival Director, Philip Tremewan, shares his pick of the festival: Fleur Elise Noble’s ROOMAN

“I was bowled over by the premiere of this extraordinary work in Melbourne just over a year ago. For me it’s a work that fits superbly into an arts festival.

It explores the way we sometimes seek to escape from our daily lives through dreams and fantasies; and it breaks boundaries, with projection and puppetry, animation and music and dance.

You’ll be rubbing your eyes with surprise and delight!  Since Melbourne, it has been to two festivals in Europe, and the Festival of Colour will be its New Zealand premiere. Get in quick.”
