We are so pleased to announce another Aspiring Conversations session, thanks to our partners at McKinsey & Co who are bringing two top international speakers to Wanaka. The session entitled ‘Innovation & Disruption’, has two panellists at the forefront of technological development and they will discuss the constantly changing technological landscape and how it is changing the world we live and work in.  Our two panellists discuss their own experiences of innovation and disruption.
Kathryn Parsons is the co-founder and co-CEO of Decoded, a London-based tech start-up which aims to increase digital literacy.  Decoded’s signature one-day course trains participants without any background in computers to “code in a day”. In 2013 Kathryn received the  Veuve Clicquot New Generation Award and the Women of the Future award in Technology and was named one of the 30 Most Important Women in Tech Under 30 by Business Insider.  She speaks Japanese, Mandarin, French and Italian.

Jason Pellegrino has worked for Google since 2008 – first as head of strategy and sales operations in Australia and from May 2016 as Managing Director of Google Australia and New Zealand. He describes himself on his twitter account as “Sydney Googler by day….. Dad, taxi driver, cat herder and wrestling referee by night and weekends.”
This session will take place in the Central Lakes Trust Crstal Palace on Saturday 8 April at 9am. Tickets $15 available here.
The session will be chaired by Lynn Freeman from Radio New Zealand. Lynn will also chair our session on Thursday discussing ‘The end of antibiotics – the end of modern medicine?’ with Siouxsie Wiles, and also the ‘On your bike session’ on Friday with Lloyd Geering and Laura Williamson. And immediately after the new technology session on Saturday morning, our director Philip Tremewan will introduce writer and thinker  Max Harris and activist Shen Narayanasamy as they discuss ‘How can we change the world’.
And look out for news later this week on releases of additional tickets for some of our previously sold out shows. Watch this space…..
