“Putting people, not performer, centre-stage, this was our show of the year.” – Metro Magazine
Real people. Real stories. From the heart.
This show is an award-winning, live documentary theatre project that explores the many different ways of being Chinese in Aotearoa. You’ll hear from a number of Otago people from a variety of backgrounds and ages, about their lives and experiences, and discover what it is to be Chinese in our community, here and now.
This performance is facilitated in real-time by director Alice Canton. You will gain raw insight into a range of regional and global issues as people offer converging and sometimes conflicting perspectives. What is “other” and who makes “them”, “us”?
