Latest News : Festival Countdown #4 - November 2008

As we fast approach the end of the year the Festival office is buzzing – we are finalising the programme and all the organizational details as well as starting our marketing. The new website will be live in the New Year and the programme brochure will be launched at our Festival Launch on 12 February 2009

Ticket Prices

The new ticketing system is in place, and training of Festival staff was completed last week. We are delighted with the new system, and by purchasing our own software we have greater flexibility and can make it easier for festival go-ers to book tickets, especially internet bookings. The main bonus is that there are no additional charges on tickets, the rates quoted are all inclusive of booking fees.

Prices for the Festival have been set at $32 for the main bill events and $10 for advance sales of the daytime concerts and speakers. 100 tickets for each of the highly popular daytime sessions will be held back and sold on the door for $5.

Tickets go on sale on 12 February 2009 for patrons and sponsors, and public sales are available from 23 February. They can be purchased either via the Festival website – www.festivalofcolour.co.nz , phone (03) 443 4172 or the Lake Wanaka iSITE or Lake Wanaka Centre.

An additional benefit of this new system is that is gives local groups and touring productions coming to Lake Wanaka an alternative for ticket sales. The system can be made available to any group selling tickets to any kind of event. So long as we cover the costs of the system, including the ticket stock and administration time to set it up, then we would be delighted to make this service available to the wider Wanaka community.

Facebook

The Festival of Colour is now a Facebook event. So if you are a Facebook member and wish to join our event just have a browse under Events on the right hand side of your home page. You can post comments and we’ll be keeping it up to date as we launch the programme. We’ll be able to have links to our performers and artists video clips and photos, and hopefully encourage them to post comments. Facebook is a great community so come and join us.

Make a diary note of the dates for the 2009 Festival of Colour – programme launch on 12 February and the Festival itself runs from 28 April to 3 May 2009.

Be inspired … Be astounded … Be in Wanaka … Be there.
