Latest News : Countdown to Festival of Colour 2009

As the autumn leaves change, our thoughts turn to the Festival 09, and with just over a year to go we’ve been busy starting to arrange the programme and secure the all important funding.

Philip Tremewan, the Festival Director, has been viewing the best of New Zealand and international performances and art and making his recommendations for the Festival of Colour 2009. Whilst the programme remains a closely guarded secret until the programme launch on 12 February, it is fair to say we expect that 2009 will be a vintage year.

You can expect some very stylish and fresh dance, theatre, music, visual arts and some top class speakers. In addition there will the community street theatre day, and a whole programme for schools.

Over 27 shows sold out in the Festival last year so make sure you make a diary date for the programme launch on February 12th 2009 to choose which of the great shows you want to see and book your tickets early.

Sponsors

We are getting renewed commitments from our current sponsors and have a number of new sponsors in discussion so watch this space for news on that.

If you or your business is interested in providing some sponsorship then please email Lindsey Schofield our co-ordinator lindsey@festivalofcolour.co.nz  for some information on the various options.

Patrons

The patrons are a vital part of the success of the Festival and we hope to grow the 152 patrons from 2007 to over 200 in 2009. Being a Patron has many benefits, not least of which is priority booking on tickets, invitations to pre and post festival functions and the launch of the 2009 programme. The donation of $500 is full tax deductible, and can be made in one payment or 2 annual payments of $250. So if you want to support the 2009 Festival of Colour then email us now for more information lindsey@festivalofcolour.co.nz

Ticketing

The Festival office is ticking over and we are making a few changes to how we run things with a new ticketing initiative to organise to make it easier to purchase tickets in 2009.

Festival Merchandise

We still have supplies of special edition Festival wine and t-shirts in a variety of sizes so please check out the website http://festivalofcolour.co.nz for full information and how to purchase them.

Once we start to have more news the website will be updated so make sure you keep checking it out – http://festivalofcolour.co.nz .

Finally make sure you’ve made a note of the dates for the 2009 Festival of Colour – programme launch on 12 February and the Festival itself runs from 28 April to 3 May 2009.

Be inspired … Be astounded … Be in Wanaka … Be there.
