Latest News : Festival Countdown # 2 - August 2010

July was a busy month with the very successful Hot Club Sandwich performance at Luggate Hall. It was a sell out show and everyone left with a smile on their face after the delightful performance from this talented trio.

The programme for the 2011 Festival is starting to take shape and it is so exciting to see the variety of performers that the Festival Director is starting to pull together.

To keep your appetite whetted in the meantime before the next Festival we have ‘Le Sud’ back at Queenstown Memorial Hall on the evenings of Friday 15 and Saturday 16 October. Tickets will go on sale in September.
This is a great opportunity to see this hilarious show again – and check out the way it has changed since its world premiere in Wanaka and Clyde last year.
Dave Armstrong’s play has had sell-out seasons in Christchurch, Nelson, Wellington, Tauranga and Auckland – and now comes back to the Southern Lakes where it all started!

Patrons function
We will be hosting a special event for our patrons, benefactors and sponsors at the Lake Wanaka Centre on October 14. There will be talks by two directors on two different plays to be performed at the 2011 Festival, so if you want to be ‘in the know’ and to be sure of an invitation then please do register your support as a patron.

Remember if you were a patron in 2009 and haven’t signed up yet then please do get in touch and pledge your support again. Your enrolment is not automatic and you need to register again. Please contact Lindsey as soon as possible – Lindsey@festivalofcolour.co.nz

We will also be holding a special patrons evening in Lowburn on Thursday 23 September. If you would be interested in attending this then please let us know.

Sponsor support
We are delighted to welcome back Aurora as a Gold Sponsor of our Southern Audiences programme – their support is so valuable to us.
And also we’re delighted to confirm that Radio Wanaka is back on board again as a Bronze Sponsor.

You can now follow the festival on Twitter and Facebook. Send us a message or just pass the links on to all your friends to keep up to speed with what is going on.

Luggate Hotel - Wine Club Dinner
Our friends at Luggate Hotel are having a monthly wine club dinner on Wednesday 4 August from 6.30pm. There will be three wine tastings with a three-course dinner for $60 per person. It should be a great night so please email Sarah to make a reservation - info@luggatehotel.co.nz. These nights are very popular with the local community of food and wine lovers.

Be inspired … Be astounded … Be in Wanaka … Be there.

The next Festival of Colour takes place on 12 to 17 April 2011 and is generously supported by Central Lakes Trust, Community Trust of Otago, and Creative New Zealand.
