The festive season is upon us and we would like to wish all of our email subscribers and supporters, a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
2012 gets off to a busy start with lots of exciting festivals. It all starts in January with the Sydney festival http://www.sydneyfestival.org.au/2012 and the Adelaide Fringe from 24 February to 18th March http://www.adelaidefringe.com.au.
Then hopping back over the water to New Zealand with the NZ International Arts Festival in Wellington that runs for the same three weeks. There is an amazing programme of national and international performances – check out Hohepa – an opera in Maori and English directed By Sara Brodie who directed our all local cast in Riverside Drive at the last festival. Also New Zealand work Michael James Manaia by Taki Rua Theatre group, Wild Bride based on a Brothers Grimm fairytale, as well as Beautiful Burnout by the National Theatre of Scotland.
Take a look at the programme online. And don’t forget WOMAD on 16-18 March.

Patrons and benefactors

We thanked our 2011 Patrons, Sponsors and Benefactors at a special function in Wanaka at the end of November. The event was well attended and we already have a number of patrons and benefactors that are continuing their support for 2013. Creative New Zealand have committed to an increased grant, which shows the esteem in which they hold the Festival of Colour, and we are in discussions with existing sponsors to continue their support. It really helps us with our planning if we know the level of financial support early on so the earlier you can commit as a patron, the better it is for us. Thank you in advance.
If you have been a patron before then you do need to register again – look out for the form in the mail this week and return it either with your $500 donation or an annual payment of $250. If you would like to roll over your support each festival then you can set up an automatic payment of $250 each year and then we won’t have to keep contacting you each festival.
