Novelist, broadcaster and teacher of creative writing Emily Perkins has continued to win literary plaudits, most recently with her novel The Forrests. She is married to artist Karl Maughan, whose detailed and lush paintings hang on many art-lovers’ walls and also appear in The Painted Garden in New Zealand. They have three children.
